Islamic Society of North America Annual Convention is the largest gathering of Muslims in in the United States and Canada, where visitors can meet Muslims and guests from other faith communities over the course of the weekend, to discuss their role in society, politics, public media, activism, educational institutions, etc. The convention offers a variety of programming, special events, activities and more. This is an opportunity for Muslim communities across North America to come together to build community, share best practices for spiritual and civic engagement and deepen religious understanding.
ISNA Annual Convention focuses on to be an exemplary and unifying Islamic organization in North America that contributes to the betterment of the Muslim community and society at large. Besides attending meetings devoted to Islam and politics, attendees enjoy visiting a large shopping bazaar with hundreds of booths, where vendors display and sell their merchandise from modest fashions and halal cosmetics to cuddly dolls reciting Quran passages. Convention speakers included activists, scholars and religious leaders. The program embraces all ages and interests from discussions on family issues, finances, civic service, spirituality, civil rights, youth development, and interfaith relations. The Convention will be buzzing with activities for every age and interest group. For the active set and youth there is the annual basketball tournament being held in collaboration with the National Muslim Basketball Tournament (NMBT), which continues to grow.
